Determination of micelle aggregation numbers of alkyltrimethylammonium bromide and sodium dodecyl sulfate surfactants using time-resolved fluorescence quenching

open access: yes, 2015
The time-resolved fluorescence quenching method was applied to determine the micelle aggregation number of cationic single-chain surfactants dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB), cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and anionic surfactant sodium ...

Effective Penetration of the Oxidized Keratin‐Rebonding Materials Into Hair Shafts Based on Charge Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We have developed a smart hair‐repair ingredient based on β‐carboxylic acid amide that undergoes negative‐to‐positive charge conversion under mildly acidic conditions. The initial negative charge facilitates deep penetration into the hair fiber, while the subsequent positive charge enables re‐bonding with sulfonate groups in damaged hair keratin.

Micellization of Sliding Polymer Surfactants

open access: yes, 2005
Following up a recent paper on grafted sliding polymer layers (Macromolecules 2005, 38, 1434-1441), we investigated the influence of the sliding degree of freedom on the self-assembly of sliding polymeric surfactants that can be obtained by complexation ...

Peptomer Linkers Enable Kinetic Control over Co‐Delivery of Multiple Chemotherapeutics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A key challenge in combinatorial chemotherapeutic drug delivery is independent control over release kinetics, especially with drugs of similar size and structure. Here, peptoid substitutions to proteolytically degradable peptides enabled the design of fast and slow‐releasing drug linkers.

Self-Assembly Properties of Amphiphilic Iron(III) Spin Crossover Complexes in Water and at the Air–Water Interface

open access: yesMagnetochemistry, 2018
The assembly properties of three known spin crossover iron(III) complexes 1⁻3, at the air⁻water interface, are reported. All three complexes are amphiphiles, each bearing a pair of Cn alkyl chains on the polyamino Schiff base sal2trien ligand

Evaluation of the Dual Impact of Nanotechnologies on Health and Environment Through Alternative Bridging Models

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores how alternative invertebrate and small‐vertebrate models advance the evaluation of nanomaterials across medicine and environmental science. By bridging cellular and organismal levels, these models enable integrated assessment of toxicity, biodistribution, and therapeutic performance.
