Comparison of methods for defatted human milk and nutrient composition: An experimental study
Abstract Background Human milk is considered the gold standard for infant nutrition; however, it is often discontinued in chylothorax and severe very long‐chain acyl‐CoA dehydrogenase (VLCAD) deficiency. As an alternative to complete human milk restriction, defatted human milk may be fed, though it may not fully support optimal infant growth and ...

The Green Amphoteric Surfactant Derived From Rapeseed Oil for Enhanced Oil Recovery From Carbonate Acidic Oil Reservoirs. ABSTRACT Surfactants with both positive and negative functional groups (amphoteric or zwitterionic) are particularly advantageous in acidic oil reservoirs because they remain stable under harsh chemical conditions, tolerate acidic ...

ABSTRACT The use of microorganisms is an evolving method for the degradation of hydrocarbon contaminants. In this aim, halophilic hydrocarbon degrading bacteria were isolated from oil contaminated soil in Tunisia. A lipopeptide biosurfactant produced by Bacillus subtilis SPB1 was tested to increase diesel biodegradation along with co‐inoculation with ...

Micellar and Solubilization Properties of Biological Surfactant Surfactin
ABSTRACT We studied aqueous solutions of surfactin in the concentration range of 0.001–200 g/L using NMR diffusometry, tensometry and optical microscopy methods. According to tensometry data, the system forms monolayers of surfactant molecules at the water‐air phase boundary at C = 0.02 g/L.

Wrapping Nanotubes with Micelles, Hemimicelles, and Cylindrical Micelles
Small, 2009AbstractThis work uses a simple model based on hydrophobic and hydrophilic forces to investigate the molecular dynamics that lead to the supramolecular self‐assembly of surfactants around carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The effects of the concentration and the structure of surfactants are explored.

Micelle formation of sodium cholate and solubilization into the micelle
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1998The micellization of sodium cholate (NaC) was studied at 298.2 K by aqueous solubility at different pH values. Using a stepwise association model of cholate anions without the sodium counterion, the aggregation number (n) of the cholate micelle was evaluated and found to increase with the total concentration, indicating that the mass action model ...
