Antibacterial Micelles with Vancomycin-Mediated Targeting and pH/Lipase-Triggered Release of Antibiotics.

ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2018
Antibiotic delivery systems play an important role in increasing the efficacy while reducing the off-target toxicity and antibiotic resistance. Though bacterial infections share pathophysiological pathways similar to tumor tissues, few delivery systems ...

Accelerated Micellization and Aggregation of Pluronic Micelles by Interaction with Heparin

Journal of Biomaterials Science, Polymer Edition, 2010
The effect of attractive interaction between heparin and Pluronic co-polymer, two important macromolecules in biomedical applications, on the micellar state of Pluronic co-polymer was characterized. By the addition of heparin, the critical micellization temperature (CMT) of Pluronic solution decreased, indicating that heparin promoted micellization ...

Influence of the Polymer–Micelle Interaction on Micelle‐Substrate Binding

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2010
In an attempt to investigate how a nonionic polymer, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), interacts with a cationic surfactant, hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), a dialysis method was employed for directly measuring the HPMC-CTAB interaction.

Micelles and Reversed Micelles: A Historical Overview

1984
This is a review of the historical development of models for micelle formation in aqueous solution, lyotropic liquid crystals, reversed micelles and microemulsions. The current model of micelle formation was suggested about fifty years ago, while the quantitative development of thermodynamic and kinetic models is relatively recent.

Micelles and Reverse Micelles: a Fascinating Micro-reactor

2022
Reactions in micro-heterogeneous systems have been found to be of great interest in the past few decades. Two such micro-heterogeneous aggregates are micelles and reverse micelles, which are formed by surface active agents or surfactants. In numerous chemical reactions, the use of these systems as microreactors increases the rate of the reaction up to ...

MICELLE, the micelle size effect on the LS counting efficiency

Computer Physics Communications, 2007
Abstract This version extends the computation of the liquid-scintillation counting efficiency to electron-capture radionuclides of 30 ⩽ Z ⩽ 54 . The simplified deterministic models of previous versions are replaced by a complete stochastic model, which considers all possible subshells involved in the atomic rearrangement of the atom.

Micelles

Nanomicelles display distinct or unique characteristics due to their dimension, the ability to dissolve, tailored surface, or interaction with the environment. These features render them versatile and beneficial across various domains, particularly applications in biology.
