Kinetics of non-ionic surfactant adsorption at a fluid-fluid interface from a micellar solution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The kinetics of non-ionic surfactant adsorption at a fluid-fluid interface from a micellar solution is considered theoretically. Our model takes into account the effect of micelle relaxation on the diffusion of the free surfactant molecules.

Bio‐Inspired Molecular Events in Poly(Ionic Liquids)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Originating from dipolar and polar inter‐ and intra‐chain interactions of the building blocks, the topologies and morphologies of poly(ionic liquids) (PIL) govern their nano‐ and micro‐processibility. Modulating the interactions of cation‐anion pairs with aliphatic dipolar components enables the tunability of properties, facilitated by “bottom‐up ...

Self Assembly of Soft Matter Quasicrystals and Their Approximants

open access: yes, 2011
The surprising recent discoveries of quasicrystals and their approximants in soft matter systems poses the intriguing possibility that these structures can be realized in a broad range of nano- and micro-scale assemblies.

Flavonoid glycosides from Persea caerulea. Unraveling their interactions with SDS-micelles through matrix-assisted DOSY, PGSE, mass spectrometry, and NOESY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Two flavonoid glycosides derived from rhamnopyranoside (1) and arabinofuranoside (2) have been isolated from leaves of Persea caerulea for the first time.

Mimicking Block Copolymer Self‐Assembly with One‐Pot Synthesized Polyphosphoester Gradient Copolymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Degradable Polyphosphoester (PPE) gradient copolymers (GCPs) are synthesized via one‐pot copolymerization. We show that GCPs self‐assemble into nanostructures like polymersomes, effectively mimicking the behavior of traditional BCPs. The gradient strength is key, with softer gradients favoring micelles.

Micellar Aggregates of Gemini Surfactants: Monte Carlo Simulation of a Microscopic Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We propose a "microscopic" model of gemini surfactants in aqueous solution. Carrying out extensive Monte Carlo simulations, we study the variation of the critical micellar concentration (CMC) of these model gemini surfactants with the variation of the (a)

Exact results and mean field approximation for a model of molecular aggregation

open access: yes, 1997
We present a simple one-dimensional model with molecular interactions favouring the formation of clusters with a defined optimal size. Increasing the density, at low temperature, the system goes from a nearly-ideal gas of independent molecules to a ...
