ABSTRACT Biodegradable and low‐irritant amino acid–based surfactants have attracted considerable attention as environmentally friendly alternatives to conventional petroleum‐derived surfactants. In this study, a series of acyl amino acid surfactants with identical amino acid head groups but different alkyl chain lengths were synthesized via a modified ...

Lipophilic Diol Induced Micellization of Pluronic F88 in Water
The presence of a lipophilic S104 (also known as C14diol) induces micellization in a highly hydrophilic ethylene oxide-propylene oxide-ethylene oxide triblock copolymer Pluronic F88 [(EO)103(PO)39-(EO)103] in water. The dynamic light scattering (DLS) and

ABSTRACT The critical micelle concentration (CMC) values of the cationic gemini surfactant pentadiyl‐α,ω‐bis(dimethyldodecylammonium) bromide depend on the hydrophobicity of added conjugated organic carboxylate anions. Nine conjugated counterions, present as sodium salts of organic acids, were studied to expand the correlation to the counterion ...

Thermodynamics of micellization of oppositely charged polymers
The complexation of oppositely charged colloidal objects is considered in this paper as a thermodynamic micellization process where each kind of object needs the others to micellize.
