Micro-hardness measurement of photopolymer in stereolithography.

open access: yesJournal of Photopolymer Science and Technology, 1997
The curing of liquid photopolymer is determined by the exposure (optical energy) deposited. In laser stereolithography, laser exposure is considered as non-homogenous within the radiation area. In order to investigate the difference of the cure degree within the cross section of a single cured strand, a micro-structure was evaluated by hardness ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Study on the Test Conditions of Micro-hardness

open access: yesBulletin of JSME, 1964
Several experiments of micro-hardness have been performed on Al and Mg single crystal in order to clarify the effect of test conditions. The micro-hardness increased rapidly at first with the increasing of test load in the small load range, then decreased gradually and became finally independent of the test load.

Deep Learning Pose Estimation for Phenotyping of Co‐Occurring Hyperkinetic Movement Disorders

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore whether routine outpatient video combined with deep learning‐based pose estimation and clinically interpretable kinematic features can support multi‐label phenotyping of co‐occurring hyperkinetic movement disorders (HMDs).

Field Report from Collaborative Research Center 1625: Heterogeneous Research Data Management Using Ontology Representations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Is an Apple an Orange? A Large Language Model Benchmark for Candidate Term Extraction and Subclass Decisions Against Upper Ontologies in Engineering and Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Building machine‐readable vocabularies for materials science is slow, expert‐driven work. This study benchmarks 13 large language models on two of its first steps: finding candidate terms in engineering articles and deciding where they belong in a class hierarchy.

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Microstructure‐Controlled Crack Propagation and Fracture Resistance in MoSiBTiC Alloy Revealed by Multiscale Extended Finite Element Method Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐dimensional multiscale finite element analysis framework was established for the first‐generation MoSiBTiC alloy, and the mechanical and fracture‐related parameters of the constituent phases were calibrated through experiments and simulations. The framework provides a basis for analyzing crack propagation behavior in its complex microstructure ...
