In Situ Acoustic Monitoring of Focused Femtosecond Pulse Duration in Air
Air‐breakdown acoustics at the laser focus is used to determine femtosecond pulse duration with a simple USB microphone. By chirp‐tuning and compressing 1030 nm pulses from 241 to 50 fs, the acoustic amplitude scales inversely proportional to the square root of the pulse duration, enabling in situ readout over 50 fs–5 ps—crucial for precise pulse ...

Towards a Unified Metaphysical Stance in Parapsychology [PDF]
One of the most pressing problems faced by contemporary parapsychology is the lack of a unified metaphysical position. Here, it is argued, based on the work of Van Fraassen, that parapsychology should adopt a limited anti-realist, neutral stance in ...

Some experiments on the paranormal cognition of drawings, with special reference to personality and attitudinal variables [PDF]
The four studies reported in this dissertation were all investigations of the conditions influencing the occurrence of 'general extrasensory perception* (GESP) between pairs of persons.

Abstract Background As Parkinson's disease (PD) progresses, motor fluctuations become increasingly difficult to manage with oral medications. Foslevodopa/foscarbidopa (LDp/CDp), delivered as a continuous 24‐h/day subcutaneous infusion, offers continuous levodopa delivery and stable plasma levodopa levels that reduce motor fluctuations. LDp/CDp has been

Parapsychological investigation of the theory of Psychopraxia: experimental and theoretical researches into an alternative theory explaining normal and paranormal phenomena [PDF]
A series of four experiments were conducted to test Thalbourne's theory of psychopraxia (Thalbourne, 2000a). The thesis begins with an introduction to the field of parapsychology in the form of an argument against extreme skepticism (Chapter 1).

Defect Passivation via Plasma Modification of Lead Halide Perovskite Thin Films
We demonstrate that exposure of perovskite thin films to diffuse coplanar surface barrier discharge nitrogen plasma leads to an increase in photoluminescence, attributed to reduced defect densities. This results in implied open‐circuit voltage improvement of up to 80 mV and finalized solar cell open‐circuit gains up to 60 mV.

Compostable and Recyclable Baroplastic Triblock Copolymers Enable Low‐Energy Polymer Processing
Baroplastic Poly(L‐lactide)‐block‐poly(ethylene glycol)‐block‐poly(L‐lactide) triblock copolymers enable ambient‐temperature processing under moderate pressure, reducing energy demand while preserving polymer integrity. The materials show rapid industrial compostability, effective chemical and physical recyclability, and compatibility with heat ...
