Configurational forces in a micro‐cracked body [PDF]

open access: yesPAMM, 2007
AbstractA framework to model micro‐cracked bodies based on the theory of continua with microstructure is presented: assuming a crack embedded in each material element, a field is considered characterising size and orientation of the crack, in addition to the usual placement in the Euclidian space.

Solar cells micro crack detection technique using state-of-the-art electroluminescence imaging

open access: yesJournal of Science: Advanced Materials and Devices, 2019
In this article, we present the development of a novel technique that is used to enhance the detection of micro cracks in solar cells. Initially, the output image of a conventional electroluminescence (EL) system is determined and reprocessed using the ...

Numerical study on compressive mechanical characteristics of filled jointed rock under confining pressure based on PFC

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution, 2023
Confining pressure is an important factor affecting the strength and deformation characteristics of rock mass, it is of great significance to study the mechanical and deformation characteristics of jointed rock mass under confining pressure for the ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Effect of pre-corrosion based on micro-scale digital image correlation on damage failure of additive manufacturing AlSi10Mg

open access: yesJournal of Aeronautical Materials
The damage evolution and failure process of pre-corroded additive manufacturing AlSi10Mg through in-situ tensile experiments under an optical microscope and micro-scale digital image correlation(μ-DIC) were investigates .

An Investigation of Thermal Effects on Micro-Properties of Sudbury Norite by CT Scanning and Image Processing Method

open access: yesMining, 2022
Rock is constantly subjected to stress and thermal conditions. Thermal-induced micro-cracks will be generated as a result of different thermal expansion gradations between different minerals. This characteristic was investigated in this paper by studying

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

ADP‐ribosylation: An emerging regulator of the epigenome

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ADP‐ribosylation has emerged as a dynamic epigenetic signaling mechanism that modifies histones and chromatin‐associated proteins. Through coordinated PARylation and MARylation, it integrates with other histone modifications to regulate chromatin structure, transcription factor activity, and gene expression, influencing genome function and disease ...
