Collagenase is a major gene product of induced rabbit synovial fibroblasts. [PDF]
We have investigated the effects of the tumor-promoting phorbol diester, 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA), on rabbit synovial fibroblasts, and found that this agent induced a major switch in gene expression in these cells that was marked by the

Factorial design for collagenase production by Penicillium sp. selected from the Caatinga soil [PDF]
Collagenolytic proteases can hydrolyze both denatured and native collagen and are becoming increasingly important commercially. The aim of this work was to select a new strain of Penicillium sp.

A Novel Function of Nonadecanoic Acid in Regulating Glucose Homeostasis
This study identifies the odd‐chain fatty acid C19:0 as an endogenous ligand of GPR120 that promotes glucose homeostasis via Gαq signaling. In obesity, elevated palmitic acid suppresses endogenous C19:0 production through a miRNA–PPARα–HACL1 pathway, offering a promising direction for understanding the role of OCFAs in human health.

Streptococcus anginosus extracellular vesicles (SA‐EVs) accumulate in gastric tissue, disrupt epithelial tight junctions, and induce gastritis characterized by neutrophil infiltration and elevated cytokines (TNF‐α, IL‐6, IL‐17A). Proteomics identifies TMPC and FBP62 as key SA‐EVs virulence factors; their genetic deletion attenuates inflammation ...

Hydrolyzates of fish scales consisting of biologically active supplements for athletes
The principal component of protein-carbohydrate mixtures for sports nutrition (gainers) are active peptides, usually synthetic ones. New biologically active supplements-gainers are introduced, which use hydrolyzates of fish scales as the active peptides.

An iron‐based nanozyme selectively eliminates intratumoral P. anaerobius while catalytically generating ROS to induce ferroptosis, synergistically suppressing colorectal cancer growth and activating anti‐tumor immunity through immunogenic cell death. ABSTRACT The intratumoral microbiota is a critical determinant of therapeutic outcomes in colorectal ...

Gastric LTi cells promote lymphoid follicle formation but are limited by IRAK-M and do not alter microbial growth. [PDF]
Lymphoid tissue inducer (LTi) cells are activated by accessory cell IL-23, and promote lymphoid tissue genesis and antibacterial peptide production by the mucosal epithelium.

The oral bacterium Streptococcus salivarius promotes colorectal cancer metastasis by inducing neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation. Mechanistically, IRGM1–IQGAP1 interaction activates Wnt5a–PI3K/AKT signaling in neutrophils, driving NET‐mediated tumor progression.
