An Efficient Detection Platform Based on Mesoporous Au@Cr2O3 Particles with Schwarz P Surface for Precise Periodontitis Metabolite Profiling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A non‐invasive periodontitis diagnosis platform was developed using Au nanoparticles‐decorated mesoporous Cr2O3 (Au@mCr2O3) particles with Schwarz P surface as matrix for saliva metabolic fingerprinting (SMFs) analysis via MALDI‐MS. With the assistance of machine learning of SMFs, this platform enables efficient diagnosis and the screening of potential

Identification of a Coxiella burnetii outer membrane porin required for intracellular replication

open access: yesInfection and Immunity
Coxiella burnetii is a gram-negative, obligate intracellular pathogen that causes human Q fever. Within host cells, C. burnetii proliferates in a spacious, acidic, lysosome-derived Coxiella-containing vacuole (CCV) by a process that requires the Dot/Icm ...

Cobalt Single‐Atom Nanozyme for Enhanced Intestinal Radioprotection and Tumor Radiosensitization via Bidirectional ROS Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Orally administered, pH‐responsive Co‐SAN exerts dual functions: in the alkaline intestinal milieu, it scavenges reactive oxygen species (ROS) and suppresses the PI3K/AKT pathway and NETs formation, thus providing radioprotection; whereas in the acidic tumor microenvironment, it generates ROS and alleviates hypoxia, thereby enhancing radiosensitization.

InSeq analysis of defined Legionella pneumophila libraries identifies a transporter-encoding gene cluster important for intracellular replication in mammalian hosts

open access: yesmBio
Legionella pneumophila is an intracellular bacterial pathogen that replicates inside human alveolar macrophages to cause a severe pneumonia known as Legionnaires’ disease. L.

A Novel IDO1/NE Dual Inhibitor, IMM‐H018 Prevents the Primary and Secondary Sepsis and Ameliorates the Kidney Injury Through Inhibiting the Cytokine Storm and Microthrombosis, and Reversing Immunosuppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IMM‐H018, a dual IDO1/NE inhibitor, demonstrates potent therapeutic efficacy in sepsis by simultaneously targeting excessive inflammation and immune dysfunction. It prevents both primary and secondary sepsis through anti‐inflammatory, immune‐restoring, and renoprotective mechanisms, reducing organ damage, improving immune homeostasis, preserving kidney

Risk of Inflammatory Bowel Disease Following Hospital‐Treated Infections and Modulatory Role of Host Genetics to Support a Multi‐Hit Pathogenesis Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hospital‐treated infections are linked to increased risk of inflammatory bowel disease in a large prospective cohort. This risk differs by infection burden, time since infection, and host immune‐genetic susceptibility. The findings support a multi‐hit pathogenesis model in which severe infection and inherited susceptibility jointly shape inflammatory ...

Intermittent Fasting Restores Cardiac Lipid Homeostasis in Diabetic Cardiomyopathy in Association With Akkermansia Muciniphila and 1‐methyl‐L‐histidine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Intermittent fasting reshapes the gut microbiota in diabetic cardiomyopathy, restoring Akkermansia muciniphila and the microbiota‐associated metabolite 1‐methyl‐L‐histidine. This shift is linked to improved cardiac lipid homeostasis, reduced lipid peroxidation, and attenuated myocardial injury, highlighting a gut microbiota–metabolite–lipid axis in ...
