Synthesis and Structure Solution of Ba[SeCN]2

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
The new quasi‐binary selenocyanate Ba[SeCN]2 was synthesized by the reaction of barium hydroxide with ammonium selenocyanate. Its crystal structure was determined from powder X‐ray diffraction (PXRD) data. Additionally, density functional theory (DFT) analysis and Raman spectroscopy were performed.

Synchrotron beamline setup enabling quasi‐simultaneous PXRD and XANES measurements: case study of Fischer–Tropsch catalyst reduction at 60 bar

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, EarlyView.
This paper presents a beamline setup that allows the combination of in situ powder X‐ray diffraction (PXRD) and X‐ray absorption near‐edge structure (XANES) measurements within a single experimental cycle to investigate cobalt catalyst structures and properties under real conditions.Powder X‐ray diffraction (PXRD) and X‐ray absorption near‐edge ...

Microcrystals and quasicrystals : how to construct microcrystals with mean perfect quasicrystalline symmetry

open access: yesJournal de Physique I, 1991
It is shown how the construction of “interwinning” elucidates the relationship between quasicrystals and microcrystals in phase transitions as observed in recent experiments. Both the diffraction patterns and the domain geometry are studied simultaneously. The splitting of the diffraction peaks in the phase transition can be calculated.

Evolution Model for the Paleoproterozoic Talvivaara Mudstone‐Hosted Ni‐Zn‐Cu‐Co Deposit in Fennoscandia

open access: yesTerra Nova, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Paleoproterozoic Talvivaara mudstone is a very large sulfidic Ni‐Co deposit that records enhanced organic matter accumulation during the global Shunga Event. Here, rock geochemistry and microscale S and Fe isotope composition of in situ pyrrhotites and pyrites are studied in well‐characterised, well‐preserved drill core samples.

Bottlenecks‐Breaking in Zinc‐Iodine Batteries Toward Practical Implementation: A Review and Perspective

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 4, July 2026.
Aqueous zinc–iodine batteries (Zn–I2Bs) offer promise for grid storage due to safety and cost advantages yet face critical bottlenecks: severe self‐discharge (polyiodide shuttling and HER), limited energy density, sluggish kinetics, and zinc anode instability.

Boosting Photocatalytic H2O2 Synthesis Over HKUST‐1 MOFs‐Derived Hollow HKUST‐1@CuFePBA@CuS Heterojunctions

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 4, July 2026.
Photoelectron transfer mechanism and photocatalytic O2‐to‐H2O2 reduction process over hollow HS@CuFe@CuS heterojunction photocatalysts. Recently, photocatalytic synthesis of H2O2 has received much attention. However, the photocatalytic activity of photocatalysts is generally limited due to multiple factors, such as insufficiency of photoelectrons, low ...

Engineering Processing of Metal–Organic Frameworks: From Porous Crystals to Processable Composites

open access: yesIsrael Journal of Chemistry, Volume 66, Issue 4, July 2026.
This review highlights engineering processing strategies for metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), including particle engineering, membrane fabrication, and surface coating. By correlating shaping pathways, interfacial organization, pore preservation, and scale‐up processability, it establishes a structure–interface–performance framework for transforming ...

Forcing the Side‐on π‐Coordination of a C≡C Triple Bond to Technetium Using the As,CC,As Alkyne Pincer Ligand 1,2‐Bis(2‐(diisopropylarsaneyl)‐4‐(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)Ethyne

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 65, Issue 25, 15 June 2026.
Technetium alkyne complexes have eluded isolation for decades with the only indicators for their existence being the isolation of vinylidene carbenes or their follow‐up reaction products despite plentiful of reports for neighboring elements. Stable, crystalline Tc(III) and Tc(V) alkyne complexes (and their Re analogs) have now been prepared and fully ...
