Hierarchically Porous Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon with High Conductivity for Rapid and Efficient Cr(VI) Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The d‐PNC(1100, 10%) catalyst, synthesized via a zinc‐based ionic liquid self‐sacrificing pore‐forming strategy to create a defect‐rich, hierarchical, nitrogen‐doped porous structure, enhances conductivity, promotes rapid mass transfer and synergistic catalytic activity, driving efficient Cr(VI) reduction in OA solution to generate Cr(III)‐OA complexes.

Multi‐Crystal X‐Ray Diffraction (MCXRD) Bridges the Crystallographic Characterisation Gap in Chemistry and Materials Science: Application to MOFs

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Multi‐crystal X‐ray diffraction (MCXRD) methods allow accurate structural characterisation with crystals too small for single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction and too large for electron diffraction, as demonstrated here for metal‐organic frameworks, and alleviate the radiation‐induced chemical changes that can result from using high‐intensity X‐ray sources to

Ambient Stable Triboelectric Nanogenerator Based on Conductive Filler Modified Silicone Rubber with Gas Barrier Encapsulation for Footstep Energy Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A humidity‐tolerant triboelectric nanogenerator is developed using conductive carbon black‐modified silicone rubber and a flame‐retardant gas barrier layer. The device efficiently harvests footstep energy while maintaining stable output under 30–90% RH and over 1 million cycles.

Microcrystals of an organic fluorescent dye grown in the presence of various PAMAM dendrimers: Control of the morphology and optical properties

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, 2004
Microcrystals of a fluorescent dye, 4-n-octylamino-7-nitrobenzoxadiazole, were prepared by the reprecipitation method. Poly(amidoamine)dendrimers bearing anionic, cationic or neutral terminating groups were used as additives in the recrystallization ...

Rapid Electrodeposition of Defect‐Tuned MOF Nanoarchitectures: Synergistic Unlocking Electrochemical Performance via Dual Modulation of Morphology and Electronic Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work utilizes rapid electrodeposition and a competitive ligand to tailor crystal fragment/ amorphous MOF structures while Ni incorporation modulates the Co electronic environment. Their synergistic control over morphology and electronic structure accelerates reconstruction into active (oxy)hydroxides, lowers the Co3+/Co4+ oxidation potential ...

Room temperature optical thermometry based on the luminescence of the SiV defects in diamond

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
SiV-containing microcrystals of diamond are synthesised by using high-pressure high-temperature treatment of a mixture of pertinent organic-inorganic precursors. Photoluminescence of SiV defects were investigated with the aim to use the microcrystals for
