Immunoguided Microdissection Techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Over the past 15 years, laser-based microdissection has improved the precision by which scientists can procure cells of interest from a heterogeneous tissue section. However, for studies that require a large amount of material (e.g., proteomics) or for cells that are scattered and difficult to identify by standard histological stains, an immunostain ...

Proteomics of human glomerulonephritis by laser microdissection and liquid chromatography‐tandem mass spectrometry

open access: yesNephrology, 2019
Laser microdissection (LMD) and liquid chromatography‐tandem mass spectrometry (LC‐MS/MS) enable clinicians to analyse proteins from tissue sections.

Microdissected Prefabricated Flap: An Evolution in Flap Prefabrication

open access: yesArchives of Plastic Surgery, 2016
When traditional flap techniques are not feasible, we apply flap prefabrication, which is more complicated and sophisticated but supplies large and thin flaps.

Proteome Profiling of 1 to 5 Spiked Circulating Tumor Cells Isolated from Whole Blood Using Immunodensity Enrichment, Laser Capture Microdissection, Nanodroplet Sample Processing, and Ultrasensitive nanoLC-MS.

open access: yesAnalytical Chemistry, 2018
Proteome profiling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) can provide crucial insight into disease progression and the role of CTCs in tumor metastasis. We describe an integrated workflow to measure global protein expression in 1-5 spiked CTCs enriched from ...

Chromosomal rearrangements in cattle and pigs revealed by chromosome microdissection and chromosome painting

open access: yesGenetics Selection Evolution, 2003
A pericentric inversion of chromosome 4 in a boar, as well as a case of (2q-;5p+) translocation mosaicism in a bull were analysed by chromosome painting using probes generated by conventional microdissection.

Transcriptome Analysis of Intrusively Growing Flax Fibers Isolated by Laser Microdissection

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
The intrusive growth, a type of plant cell elongation occurring in the depths of plant tissues, is characterized by the invasion of a growing cell between its neighbours due to a higher rate of elongation. In order to reveal the largely unknown molecular

Laser-capture microdissection

open access: yesNature Protocols, 2006
Deciphering the cellular and molecular interactions that drive disease within the tissue microenvironment holds promise for discovering drug targets of the future. In order to recapitulate the in vivo interactions thorough molecular analysis, one must be able to analyze specific cell populations within the context of their heterogeneous tissue ...

Comparative Analysis of the Six-Strand Hamstring and Peroneus Longus in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation

open access: yesSurgeries
The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is crucial for knee stability and is often injured in sports, leading to significant issues like degenerative changes and meniscal tears.

Cross-species chromosome painting tracks the independent origin of multiple sex chromosomes in two cofamiliar Erythrinidae fishes

open access: yesBMC Evolutionary Biology, 2011
Background The Erythrinidae fish family is characterized by a large variation with respect to diploid chromosome numbers and sex-determining systems among its species, including two multiple X1X2Y sex systems in Hoplias malabaricus and Erythrinus ...

Orthogonal Ionic Liquid‐Based Extraction Strategy Enables Amyloid‐Specific Profiling of Aggregate Proteome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An orthogonal ionic‐liquid extraction (Orth‐iEA) enables selective isolation of amyloid fibrils. TMGBF4 disrupts hydrogen‐bonded β‐sheet networks to solubilize amyloid aggregates, whereas C12ImCl interacts with hydrophobic regions of non‐amyloid proteins.
