Actin Binding Proteins: Regulation of Cytoskeletal Microfilaments

Physiological Reviews, 2003
The actin cytoskeleton is a complex structure that performs a wide range of cellular functions. In 2001, significant advances were made to our understanding of the structure and function of actin monomers. Many of these are likely to help us understand and distinguish between the structural models of actin microfilaments.

Role of Small Heat Shock Proteins in the Remodeling of Actin Microfilaments

Biochemistry (Moscow), 2022
Small heat shock proteins (sHsps) play an important role in the maintenance of proteome stability and, particularly, in stabilization of the cytoskeleton and cell contractile apparatus. Cell exposure to different types of stress is accompanied by the translocation of sHsps onto actin filaments; therefore, it is commonly believed that the sHsps are true

Possible involvement of microfilaments in protein kinase C translocation

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1989
We investigated the role of microfilaments in stimulus-induced translocation of protein kinase C (PKC) in polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) from C57BL/6 mice. Cytochalasin B and dihydrocytochalasin B almost completely inhibited PKC translocation induced by either TPA or Ca2+ ionophore after pretreatment of cells for 30 min.
