Comparative analysis and selection of the geometry of the microphone array based on MEMS microphones for sound localisation

open access: yesРадіоелектронні і комп'ютерні системи
The subject of this article is the design and optimization of the geometric configuration of omnidirectional MEMS microphone arrays for sound localization tasks. The goal is to determine the most effective array architecture and beamforming algorithms to

Three-dimensional microphone arrays [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1987
Low-cost, high-quality microphones and integrated electronics prompt examination of sophisticated arrays for sound pick-up in large enclosures. A three-dimensional, uniform configuration of receivers is studied and shown to have several benefits. Beamforming and delay steering can be accomplished over the 4π solid angle without spatial ambiguity ...

TreeSpider: In‐Canopy Exploration With Tether‐Based Aerial Modular Arms

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A tethered drone with perching arms and a 360° ring enables unprecedented maneuverability within dense forest canopies. By dynamically adjusting tether length and decoupling pitch from the frame, it navigates between branches, senses multiple trees, and interacts physically with foliage.

A Supramolecular Ferroelectric With Two Sublattices and Polarization Dependent Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric behavior in a supramolecular material with two, independently switchable, sublattices is demonstrated. The sublattices can be associated with the two dipolar groups in the compound. Moreover, the polarization is found to couple to the charge transport in the material, giving rise to a switchable, directional conductivity.

Tunable Sound Absorption via Evanescent‐Wave Coupling in Asymmetric Bilayer Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tunable sound absorption is realized through a bilayer metasurface system governed by evanescent‐wave coupling. This work demonstrates that such evanescent‐wave coupling provides a controllable scattering channel that destructively interferes with the specular reflection.

Multi-Channel Sub-Band Speech Recognition

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2001
Two distinct fields of research into robust speech recognition are the use of microphone arrays for signal enhancement and the use of independent frequency sub-band models for robust recognition.

An online algorithm for echo cancellation, dereverberation and noise reduction based on a Kalman-EM Method

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Audio, Speech, and Music Processing, 2021
Many modern smart devices are equipped with a microphone array and a loudspeaker (or are able to connect to one). Acoustic echo cancellation algorithms, specifically their multi-microphone variants, are essential components in such devices.

Dynamic Shifts in ER–Plasma Membrane Junctions Signaling Define Pro‐Metastatic N‐Glycosylation and Predict Prostate Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Prostate cancer remains a leading cause of male cancer death, yet screening cannot reliably identify aggressive disease, underscoring the need for tissue biomarkers. It is shown that primary tumors increase ER–plasma membrane junction signaling via STIM1/ORP5, whereas metastasis features their loss, Golgi dispersal, and rapid conversion of high‐mannose
