Preoperative Versus Postoperative Chemotherapy With CAPOX Plus Bevacizumab for Resectable Colorectal Liver Metastases: A Randomized Phase II Trial (HiSCO‐01)

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Our aim was to compare the outcomes of preoperative chemotherapy with postoperative chemotherapy in patients with resectable colorectal liver metastases treated with CAPOX‐Bev. We demonstrated that both preoperative and postoperative CAPOX‐Bev were safely administered, and preoperative chemotherapy showed a numerically higher treatment compliance rate ...

GPS for Microsatellites – Status and Perspectives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
GPS receivers nowadays provide a well established system for tracking of spacecraft in low-Earth orbit (LEO). In addition, GPS receivers serve as instruments for geodetic and atmospheric research on an ever growing number of science missions. The paper provides an overview of existing GPS receivers for LEO satellites, covering both fully space ...

Clinically Informed Intelligent Classification of Ovarian Cancer Cells by Label‐Free Holographic Imaging Flow Cytometry

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
Quantitative phase maps of single cells recorded in flow cytometry modality feed a hierarchical architecture of machine learning models for the label‐free identification of subtypes of ovarian cancer. The employment of a priori clinical information improves the classification performance, thus emulating the clinical application of liquid biopsy during ...

Unraveling the Genomic Architecture of Supernumerary (Iso‐)Dicentric Chromosomes in Dup15q Syndrome: Insight From a Systematic Literature‐Based Study

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chromosomal aberrations, particularly copy‐number variations (CNVs), are prevalent in neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD) and significantly contribute to their pathogenesis. Copy‐number gains (CN gains) in 15q11‐q13, primarily consisting of a pseudo (iso‐)dicentric chromosome 15 [(i)dic(15)] or an interstitial duplication, are among the most ...

Establishment of a humanized SCA2 mouse model carrying a CAA disruption preventing CAG repeat expansion in pathogenic genes

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
In this study, we established a mouse model in which CAG repeats do not undergo microsatellite instability (MSI) across generations. A humanized ATXN2 cDNA with four CAA interruptions within 73 CAG expansions was inserted into the Rosa26 locus of C57BL/6J mice. At the same time, a 23 CAG control mouse model was also generated.

Comparison of the effectiveness of microsatellites and SNP panels for genetic identification, traceability and assessment of parentage in an inbred Angus herd

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2013
During the last decade, microsatellites (short tandem repeats or STRs) have been successfully used for animal genetic identification, traceability and paternity, although in recent year single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have been increasingly used ...
