Diversity of Fungi in the Traditional Slovak Cheese “Parenica”

open access: yesScientific Papers Animal Science and Biotechnologies, 2023
Fungi as a group are some of the most resilient spoilage microorganisms and are capable of overcoming the control strategies utilized by the food industry. Various fungal propagules are rapidly dispersed by water and air, survive under extreme conditions,

Microscopic Identification of Etiological Agents of Mycotic Keratitis in Corneal Ulcer Patients at Tertiary Care Eye Hospital, Pondicherry

open access: yes, 2020
Fungal keratitis is one of the causes of severe ocular morbidity and blindness. The prevalence of fungal keratitis has been increased from 7–63%. Culture is mandatory for an Ophthalmologist to guide treatment.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Study and Mathematical Modeling of Bionic Principles of Image Identification of Microscopic Biological Objects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
В основе представленного подхода для распознавания микроскопических биологических объектов лежит разработка вычислительных алгоритмов и моделей, имитирующих принципы работы реальных зрительных систем (бионический подход). Основным преимуществом подобного

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.
