A Hybrid Submicroscopic-Microscopic Traffic Flow Simulation Framework
Current lane-based microscopic traffic simulators combine car-following and lane changing logic to describe the (often discrete) lateral vehicle motion on multi-lane road segments. However, the simulated lateral trajectories are physically unplausible and inside-lane behavior such as lane-keeping and curve negotiation cannot be modelled.

A systematic review of machine learning-based microscopic traffic flow models and simulations
Microscopic traffic flow models and simulations are crucial for capturing vehicle interactions and analyzing traffic. They can provide critical insights for transport planning, management, and operation through scenario testing and optimization. With the

MICROSCOPIC TRAFFIC FLOW MODEL WITH INFLUENCE OF PASSENGER TRANSPORT
To analyze the influence of passenger transport on traffic flow, we develop a microscopic traffic flow model that incorporates various factors such as vehicle speed, acceleration, deceleration, lane-changing behavior, and interaction between different types of vehicles.

Traveling waves for a microscopic model of traffic flow [PDF]
We consider the follow-the-leader model for traffic flow. The position of each car $z_i(t)$ satisfies an ordinary differential equation, whose speed depends only on the relative position $z_{i+1}(t)$ of the car ahead. Each car perceives a local density $ _i(t)$. We study a discrete traveling wave profile $W(x)$ along which the trajectory $( _i(t),z_i(

Autonomous Vehicle Decision and Control through Reinforcement Learning with Traffic Flow Randomization [PDF]
Most of the current studies on autonomous vehicle decision-making and control based on reinforcement learning are conducted in simulated environments. The training and testing of these studies are carried out under the condition of rule-based microscopic

Evaluating the Effect of Road Surface Potholes Using a Microscopic Traffic Model
Road surface wear leads to the formation of cracks and holes known as potholes. Potholes disrupt the smooth flow of traffic and can lead to accidents. The Intelligent Driver (ID) model is commonly employed but it assumes uniform traffic behavior for all ...

Microscopic Road Traffic Scene Analysis Using Computer Vision and Traffic Flow Modelling
This paper presents the development of a vision-based system for microscopic road traffic scene analysis and understanding using computer vision and computational intelligence techniques. The traffic flow model is calibrated using the information obtained from the road-side cameras. It aims to demonstrate an understanding of different levels of traffic
