Scanning electron microscopy of cold gases

open access: yes, 2015
Ultracold quantum gases offer unique possibilities to study interacting many-body quantum systems. Probing and manipulating such systems with ever increasing degree of control requires novel experimental techniques. Scanning electron microscopy is a high

Materials Contrast in Piezoresponse Force Microscopy

open access: yes, 2006
Piezoresponse Force Microscopy contrast in transversally isotropic material corresponding to the case of c+ - c- domains in tetragonal ferroelectrics is analyzed using Green's function theory by Felten et al. [J. Appl. Phys. 96, 563 (2004)]. A simplified

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Analyzing the microstructure and related properties of 2D materials by transmission electron microscopy

open access: yesApplied Microscopy, 2019
Two-dimensional materials such as transition metal dichalcogenide and graphene are of great interest due to their intriguing electronic and optical properties such as metal-insulator transition based on structural variation.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Quantum gas microscopy of Rydberg macrodimers

open access: yes, 2019
A microscopic understanding of molecules is essential for many fields of natural sciences but their tiny size hinders direct optical access to their constituents.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Single spin stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy

open access: yes, 2014
We experimentally demonstrate precision addressing of single quantum emitters by combined optical microscopy and spin resonance techniques. To this end we utilize nitrogen-vacancy (NV) color centers in diamond confined within a few ten nanometers as ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Morphological characteristic analysis of unrecorded freshwater diatoms in Korea

open access: yesApplied Microscopy
Diatoms are microalgae with a significant ecological role as primary producers, contributing approximately 20% of global carbon fixation. They exhibit remarkable evolutionary success and biodiversity, with approximately 18,000 species identified globally,
