Pediatric Autoimmune Pancreatitis: Clinical Findings and Outcomes in Sweden

open access: yesUnited European Gastroenterology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pediatric autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) is a rare form of pancreatitis in children with poorly understood pathophysiology. It is a recognized risk factor for chronic pancreatitis in approximately 4% of pediatric cases. This study aims to describe the demographics, clinical characteristics, and outcomes of a large Swedish cohort of

Induction of Peroxisomal β‐Oxidation as a Critical Mechanism for Ethanol‐Induced Hepatic Triglyceride Accumulation

open access: yesFASEB BioAdvances, EarlyView.
Prolonged fasting and fibrate treatment induce peroxisomal β‐oxidation and lead to excessive generation of hydrogen peroxide, which stimulates ethanol metabolism and significantly increases the formation of acetaldehyde; further oxidation of acetaldehyde into acetate remarkably elevates the mitochondrial ratio of NADH/NAD+ and causes feedback ...

Processing of rat liver apoprotein E primary translation product.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1984
The primary translation product of rat liver apoE mRNA was isolated from wheat germ cell-free translation systems. Plasma apoE and the primary translation product migrated similarly on SDS-polyacrylamide gels, had similar partial proteolytic peptide maps,

Gut Microbiota Regulate Lipid Metabolism via the Bile Acid Pathway: Resistance to Hypoxia in Gansu Zokor (Eospalax cansus)

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
The gut microbiota regulates lipid metabolism of Gansu zokor (Eospalax cansus) through the bile acid pathway in hypoxic environments, reflecting the unique survival strategy of subterranean rodents to maintain lipid metabolism homeostasis and flexible energy metabolism in hypoxic environments.

MMF Is an Effective and Safer Treatment Options for Treatment‐Naïve Patients With Autoimmune Hepatitis Compared to Azathioprine: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Digestive Diseases, EarlyView.
Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) demonstrates superior efficacy and tolerability compared to azathioprine (AZA) in treatment‐naïve autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) patients. Meta‐analysis of five studies reveals higher complete biochemical response rates, increased Corticosteroid withdrawal rate, and fewer gastrointestinal side effects with MMF.

A Xanthine Derivative With Novel Heat Shock Protein 90‐Alpha Inhibitory and Senolytic Properties

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
This study aimed to find safe senolytic drugs that selectively eliminate senescent cells. Focusing on HSP90 inhibitors, we employed a virtual screening to identify novel, safer compounds (A). K5, a xanthinic candidate, effectively eliminated senescent cells in various cellular models (B), extended lifespan in flies, and reduced aging signs in mice (C).
