Observation of soliton fission in microstructured fiber

Applied Optics, 2012
Femtosecond pulse propagation at λ=802  nm; in microstructured fiber (MF) with zero-dispersion wavelength at 780 nm is studied experimentally and numerically. The temporal and spectral distributions of the femtosecond pulse in MF are demonstrated by using a grating-eliminated no-nonsense observation of ultrafast incident laser light e-fields technique.

Linear-core-array microstructured fiber

Optics Letters, 2009
Linear-core-array microstructured fibers are fabricated using the modified chemical-vapor desposition and etching method for preparing each core performs, and two D-shape large-scale silica rods are also used in the linear-core-array fiber perform stacking.

Four-wave mixing in microstructure fiber

Optics Letters, 2001
We report what we believe to be the first experimental demonstration of nondegenerate four-wave mixing in a microstructure fiber. The effect of the chi((3)) nonlinearity is enhanced in such a fiber because of the small core area, and we achieve phase matching by operating near the zero-dispersion wavelength (?750 nm) . We have observed parametric gains

Microstructured Optical Fibers

2006
This chapter explores microstructured optical fibers that have now developed to the point where they are not only of interest from a research perspective, but are also becoming available commercially. This chapter demonstrates that good quality index guiding holey fibers (HFs) and photonic bandgap fibers (PBGFs) based on a cladding structure with a ...

Transverse light guides in microstructured optical fibers

Optics Letters, 2006
A novel class of microstructured optical fiber coupler is introduced that operates by resonant, rather than proximity, energy transfer by means of transverse light guides built into a fiber cross section. Such a design permits significant spatial separation between interacting fibers, which, in turn, eliminates intercore cross talk owing to proximity ...

Long-period fiber gratings written in the microstructure specialty fibers

2013 6th IEEE/International Conference on Advanced Infocomm Technology (ICAIT), 2013
We demonstrate the fabrication of long-period fiber gratings (LPFGs) written by CO2 laser in different micro-structure specialty fibers. The characteristics of grating growth were studied by using the dynamic analysis of laser writing process. It can be believed that the residual stress relaxation, glass structure changes, and frozen of the non ...

Nonlinear optics of microstructure fibers

Uspekhi Fizicheskih Nauk, 2004
Microstructure fibers have opened a new phase in nonlinear optics. Due to their unique properties, fibers of this type radically enhance all the basic nonlinear-optical phenomena, offering new strategies for frequency conversion, spectral transformation, and control of ultrashort laser pulses.
