τ Regulation of Microtubule‐Microtubule Spacing and Bundling

Journal of Neurochemistry, 1994
Abstract: τ proteins are microtubule‐associated proteins that promote microtubule polymerization in vitro and in vivo. They are a family of neuronal proteins with apparent molecular weights in the range 50,000–68,000 determined by sodium dodecyl sulfate‐polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Recently, a new member of this family has been described and its

Microtubules and Mitosis

1984
The mitotic chromosome movements are discussed in relation with recent studies on tubulins, their assembly and disassembly, and the associated proteins. The role of contractile proteins in the mitotic spindle is considered, and also that of the calcium regulating protein (CDR) which has been demonstrated recently in the mitotic spindle.

Ordering microtubules

BioEssays, 1997
AbstractHow do cells order their cytoplasm? While microtubule organizing centers have long been considered essential to conferring order by virtue of their microtubule nucleating activity, attention has currently refocused on the role that microtubule motors play in organizing microtubules.
