Young's modulus of vinyl ester composites cured by microwave irradiation: preliminary results [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The shrinkage of vinyl ester particulate composites has been reduced by curing the resins under microwave conditions. The reduction in the shrinkage of the resins by microwaves will enable the manufacture of large vinyl ester composite items possible.

Ti3C2Tx MXene/Silver Composite Foams For Lightweight, High‐Performance Electromagnetic Interference Shielding and Joule Heating

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Ultrathin MXene/EMF composite foams achieve a specific shielding efficiency of 749.6 dB.dB·cm3$\mathrm{dB}\cdot {\mathrm{cm}}^{3}$/g, while the silver‐enhanced MXene/Ag/EMF reaches 81.4 dB shielding effectiveness at just 1.0 mm thickness. Both composites exhibit rapid Joule heating, retain stability up to 250∘C$^\circ{\rm C}$, and withstand 1000 ...

Pasteurization of Food by Microwave Irradiation

open access: yesFood Hygiene and Safety Science (Shokuhin Eiseigaku Zasshi), 1995
Bacteria in frozen shrimp (4.1×103/g), refrigerated thick custard (1.2×102/g) and frozen pilaf (1.2×102/g) were killed by microwave irradiation for 40 seconds, 60 seconds and 4 minutes, respectively. The temperatures at the center of the foods at that time were 55°C, 25-30°C and 80°C, respectively. E. coli (4.2×103/ml), S.

Microwave-Induced Interfacial Nanobubbles

open access: yes, 2016
A new method for generating nanobubbles via microwave irradiation was verified and quantified. AFM measurement showed that nanobubbles with diameters ranging in 200 - 600 nm were generated at water-HOPG surface by applying microwave to aqueous solutions ...
