Effects of Microwave Irradiation on Microorganisms
1980Publisher Summary This chapter illustrates the experiment carried out to study the effects of microwave irradiation on microorganisms. In the study, cultures of E. coli and Bacillus subtilis were used to compare the effects of conventional thermal reactions to those of microwave energy at 2450 MHz. The results with E.

The Synthesis of Polycrystalline Chalcopyrite Semiconductors by Microwave Irradiation
MRS Proceedings, 1993AbstractPolycrystalline samples of the chalcopyrites CuInS2, CuInSe2, AgInS2, and AgInSe2 have been prepared from stoichiometric mixtures of the pure elements using microwave irradiation. The reactions were performed in sealed quartz tubes in as few as three minutes.

Microwave irradiation as a form of fixation for dental pulp
Australian Dental Journal, 1989AbstractThis study investigated developments in microwave energy fixation and the general applicability of microwave fixation to studies of dental pulp. Rat mandibles with incisors were dissected out and immersed in various solutions before and after exposure to microwave energy. Histological examination showed no combination with microwave fixation to

Double Staining of Skeleton Using Microwave Irradiation
Biotechnic & Histochemistry, 1999The fetal skeleton double staining method is used to reveal developmental abnormalities in the skeletal system. We used alizarin red S and alcian blue successfully with microwave irradiation for skeletal double staining. The fixation time was reduced from 4-7 days to 2-2.5 min and the staining time was reduced from 4 days to 23 min.

Medical microwave irradiator coagulator
2000 10th International Crimean Microwave Conference. "Microwave and Telecommunication Technology". Conference Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.00EX415), 2000The design of an experimentally tested microwave irradiator-coagulator is described. Characteristics of the microwave radiation source small-size continuously operating 8 millimeter magnetron are presented. Results of the preliminary clinical approbation and prospects for an application are discussed for an experimental specimen of the portable medical
