Upconversion time-stretch infrared spectroscopy

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications, 2023
We develop upconversion time-stretch infrared spectroscopy, which enables high-speed and high-resolution broadband mid-infrared spectroscopy with over 1000 spectral elements at a rate of more than 10 MSpectra s−1.

Metasurface-enhanced mid-infrared spectroscopy in the liquid phase. [PDF]

open access: yesChem Sci, 2022
A novel surface-enhanced infrared absorption (SEIRA) spectroscopy method exploits the resonance of a dielectric metasurface to provide strong field enhancement at a microscale depth, making it suitable for analysis of dilute liquid samples.

Mid-infrared near-field spectroscopy

open access: yesOptics Express, 2009
We demonstrate continuous infrared spectra from 20 nm sample spots, by combining dispersive Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) with scattering near-field microscopy (s-SNOM). With the "apertureless" tip of a standard AFM cantilever in one arm of a Michelson interferometer the spectra arise simultaneously in amplitude and phase.

Monitoring the ripening attributes of Turkish white cheese using miniaturized vibrational spectrometers

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 2022
: Monitoring the ripening process by prevalent analytic methods is laborious, expensive, and time consuming. Our objective was to develop a rapid and simple method based on vibrational spectroscopic techniques to understand the biochemical changes ...

Benchmarking the Use of Heavily-Doped Ge Against Noble Metals for Plasmonics and Sensing in the Mid-Infrared [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Despite the recent introduction of heavily-doped semiconductors for mid-infrared plasmonics, it still remains an open point whether such materials can compete with noble metals.

Mid- to Far-Infrared spectroscopy of Sharpless 171 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We have collected one-dimensional raster-scan observations of the active star-forming region Sharpless 171 (S171), a typical HII region-molecular cloud complex, with the three spectrometers (LWS, SWS, and PHT-S) on board ISO.

Searching water megamasers by using mid-infrared spectroscopy (I): Possible mid-infrared indicators [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2021
ABSTRACT Water megamasers at 22 GHz with a gas disc configuration in galaxies provide the most precise measurements of supermassive black hole masses, as well as independent constraints on the Hubble constant in the nearby universe. The existence of other maser types, such as jet or outflow masers, represents another tracer for AGN ...

Mid-infrared spectroscopy on a fiber tip for molecular monitoring. [PDF]

open access: yesOpt Eng
Mid-infrared (mid-IR) fiber sensors offer highly specific and sensitive detection and analysis of various chemical species due to many molecular vibrations and fundamental absorption bands in this range. In this paper, we present a compact transflection-based mid-IR fiber probe, designed to be potentially suitable for in vivo sensing, with an optical ...
