‘for ye vrangus haldyn of thre bollis of beire fra hyre’: Nominal plurals in south-western Middle Scots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper presents an analysis of plurality markers in the first extant text from the South-West of Scotland, the Wigtown Burgh Court Book (1512-1534). The inflectional endings for the plural are often included among the Middle Scots diagnostic features

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

New records of shore flies (Diptera, Ephydridae) from Morocco [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Insect Biodiversity and Systematics
Among the 45 collected and identified species, one genus (Scoliocephalus Becker, 1903) and nine species of shore flies (Diptera, Ephydridae) are recorded for the first time in Morocco of which seven species are new to the North African region ...

City of Stones in the Moroccan Middle Atlas: Special Funeral Rites [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences
The Middle Atlas and particularly the Boulmane region is full of pre-Islamic funerary monuments. The overwhelming majority of them are circular tumuli. However, two burials from the “City of Stones” are completely different from this common pattern and ...

Age-related drought sensitivity of Atlas cedar (Cedrus atlantica) in the Moroccan Middle Atlas forests [PDF]

open access: yesDendrochronologia, 2013
[EN] Age-related tree responses to climate change are still poorly understood at the individual tree level. In this paper, we seek to disentangle the relative contribution of tree age to growth decline and growth-climate relationships in Atlas cedar (Cedrus atlantica Manetti) trees at the Middle Atlas Mountains, northern Morocco.

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

CLIMATIC CHANGES IN THE MAGHREB REGION: THE EVOLUTION OF THE PLUVIOMETRIC PARAMETERS IN THE MIDDLE ATLAS AND AT ITS MARGINS (MOROCCO) AND ITS RELATION TO THE NORTH ATLANTIC OSCILLATION [PDF]

open access: yesAerul şi Apa: Componente ale Mediului, 2013
In order to characterize the climatic changes observed on a regional and local scale, an analysis of the pluviometric parameters has been proposed. It relies on the calculation of the centered index decreased and the quintile method to characterize their

Increasing Drought Sensitivity and Decline of Atlas Cedar (Cedrus atlantica) in the Moroccan Middle Atlas Forests [PDF]

open access: yesForests, 2011
An understanding of the interactions between climate change and forest structure on tree growth are needed for decision making in forest conservation and management. In this paper, we investigated the relative contribution of tree features and stand structure on Atlas cedar (Cedrus atlantica) radial growth in forests that have experienced heavy grazing
