Reversal of hepatorenal syndrome type 1 with terlipressin plus albumin vs. placebo plus albumin in a pooled analysis of the OT-0401 and REVERSE randomised clinical studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background The goal of hepatorenal syndrome type 1 (HRS-1) treatment is to improve renal function. Terlipressin, a synthetic vasopressin analogue, is a systemic vasoconstrictor used for the treatment of HRS-1, where it is available.

Human hypoxia models in aerospace medicine: Potential applications for human pharmacological research

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, Volume 92, Issue 1, Page 58-72, January 2026.
Aerospace medicine required controlled terrestrial models to investigate influences of altered atmosphere conditions, such as hypoxia, on human health and performance. These models could potentially be expanded to encompass disease conditions or treatment targets regulated through hypoxia or hypercapnia.

Rapidly Progressive Multiple System Atrophy—Cerebellar Type in a 52‐Year‐Old Woman: Diagnostic Challenges in a Resource‐Limited Setting

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a progressive adult‐onset neurodegenerative disorder that manifests as a variable combination of cerebellar, parkinsonian, and autonomic dysfunctions. Impact of Midodrine on Optimization of β-blocker Therapy in Patients with Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Introduction: Midodrine, an α-adrenergic agonist approved for orthostatic hypotension, is used off-label for hypotension in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). However, its prevalence, clinical outcomes, and risks in HFrEF

Recurrent Syncope in Patients With Reflex Syncope Treated With Dual‐Chamber Pacemakers: Short‐Term Associated Factors—A Single‐Center Retrospective Study

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 41, Issue 6, December 2025.
In this single‐center retrospective cohort of 117 patients with reflex syncope treated with dual‐chamber pacemakers, 12.8% had syncope recurrence within 6 months. Female sex, higher prior syncope burden, and a larger systolic blood pressure differential identified a high‐risk subgroup requiring closer follow‐up and adjunctive measures.

Usefulness of bioelectrical impedance analysis for monitoring patients with refractory ascites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Background: bioelectrical impedance analysis is a technique for the determination of the hydropic component. The hydropic component, determined by blood volume, could be a reflection of the hemodynamic situation.
