A gradient‐forming MipZ protein mediating the control of cell division in the magnetotactic bacterium Magnetospirillum gryphiswaldense

MipZ homologs have been identified as regulators of cell division in alphaproteobacteria, but their functional conservation and distribution among species are still poorly investigated. Here, we show that Magnetosprillum gryphiswaldense contains two MipZ paralogs with distinct localization patterns and functions.
