Mild and Severe Wear of Titanium Alloys
Tribology Letters, 2016Dry sliding wear tests were performed for TC4 and TC11 alloys on a pin-on-disk wear tester at room temperature and various sliding velocities. TC4 and TC11 alloys shared almost the same wear regularity as a function of sliding velocity and contact pressure.

Wear studies on boronized mild steel
Wear, 1984Abstract Unlubricated dry sliding wear tests were carried out using a pin-on-disc machine on boronized mild steel pins containing FeB, Fe 2 B and both phases in the surface layers. The discs were made of hardened tool steel. Singlephase boride layers exhibited better wear resistance than two-phase boride layers.

The mild wear mechanism of nodular iron
Wear, 1969Abstract Nodular cast iron is well known to be more susceptible to scuffing and seizing than is ordinary gray cast iron. This results largely from the spherical shape of the graphite nodules in its structure which causes relatively large metallic particles to be produced even under mild wear conditions.

Role of oxidation in the mild wear of steel
British Journal of Applied Physics, 1962The structures of the wear debris obtained in several investigations into the mild wear of steel, i.e. the wear of relatively smooth steel surfaces, are compared with those to be expected from the results of representative oxidation experiments. It is assumed that sliding and stress have no effect on the oxides formed.
