Extracellular matrix remodeling upregulates hippocampal neurogenic niche stiffness and impairs neurogenesis in Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Preserving adult hippocampal neurogenesis alleviates cognitive deficits in Alzheimer's disease (AD), yet how biophysical alterations in such as stiffness in the neurogenic niche regulate neurogenesis remains unclear. METHODS Stiffness in the hippocampal dentate gyrus subgranular cell zone (SGZ) of 5×FAD mice was measured using ...

Metabolomics and Mechanistic Approaches Reveal the Synergistic and Attenuating of Rubus chingii Hu on Tripterygium Glycoside Tablets in the Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Experimental flow chart of the attenuating and synergistic effects of RCH on TGTs in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. ABSTRACT Tripterygium Glycoside Tablets (TGTs) are primary drugs for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) but pose a risk of nephrotoxicity. Rubus chingii Hu (RCH) may enhance kidney function.

Methamphetamine Enantiomers: From Chemical Synthesis to Biological Fate

open access: yesChirality, Volume 38, Issue 9, September 2026.
Methamphetamine is an amphetamine‐type stimulant characterized by a single stereogenic center, resulting in two enantiomers, (R)‐(−)‐methamphetamine and (S)‐(+)‐methamphetamine, with distinct biological and pharmacological profiles. These forms exhibit differences in central nervous system activity, metabolism, excretion, and overall physiological ...

Pyrroloquinoline Quinone Attenuates Traumatic Brain Injury‐Induced Secondary Damage by Activating PINK1/Parkin‐Mediated Mitophagy and Suppressing ASS1/CPS1‐Driven Arginine Biosynthesis

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2026.
Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) attenuates traumatic brain injury in mice. Multi‐omics integration and molecular docking reveal that PQQ activates PINK1/Parkin‐mediated mitophagy to restore mitochondrial homeostasis while suppressing ASS1/CPS1‐driven arginine biosynthesis to dampen neuroinflammation, identifying a dual‐axis therapeutic mechanism for TBI.

PRMT7‐mediated arginine methylation of FOXK activates Wnt/β‐catenin signalling to drive doxorubicin resistance in diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
The high expression of PRMT7 enhances its interaction with DVL2 by methylating arginine residues on FOXK1/FOXK2. This process promotes the nuclear translocation of DVL2, thereby aberrantly activating the Wnt/β‐catenin signalling pathway, which ultimately drives the development of doxorubicin resistance in DLBCL.
