Millimeter-wave imaging is a promising technique for non-destructive testing (NDT). It is a contactless sensing modality, it can penetrate many optically opaque materials, and millimeter-waves are not harmful to the operator.

Agile Millimeter Wave Networks with Provable Guarantees
There is much interest in integrating millimeter wave radios (mmWave) into wireless LANs and 5G cellular networks to benefit from their multiple GHz of available spectrum. Yet unlike existing technologies, e.g., WiFi, mmWave radios require highly directional antennas.

Wireless Data Center with Millimeter Wave Network [PDF]
Data center networks are becoming increasingly popular for several computationally intensive applications such as search, gaming etc. Complex wiring issues in traditional data centers motivated us to consider wireless and a more flexible solution that also enables dynamic reconfiguration of data center networks.

Random Beamforming in Millimeter-Wave NOMA Networks
Abstract—This paper investigates the coexistence between two key enabling technologies for fifth generation (5G) mobile networks, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and millimeterwave (mmWave) communications. Particularly, the application of random beamforming to mmWave-NOMA systems is considered, in order to avoid the requirement that the base ...

On the Performance of Relay Aided Millimeter Wave Networks [PDF]
In this paper, we investigate the potential benefits of deploying relays in outdoor millimeter-wave (mmWave) networks. We study the coverage probability from sources to a destination for such systems aided by relays. The sources and the relays are modeled as independent homogeneous Poisson point processes (PPPs).

Incomplete microwave ablation (iMWA) of liver cancer triggers a biphasic progression in residual tumors. At Day 3, the microenvironment is characterized by acute inflammatory responses and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. By Day 14, a profound shift occurs toward oncogenic signal transduction and immunosuppression, marked by macrophage ...

Effect of terahertz irradiation on DNA damage repair in living cells
We investigated the effect of terahertz (THz) wave irradiation on DNA double‐strand break (DSB) repair in living cells. We found that THz irradiation enhanced DSB repair at specific frequencies, whereas heat treatment inhibited it, indicating that this effect is nonthermal and frequency‐specific.
