AbstractThe utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare is on the rise, demanding increased accessibility to (public) medical data for benchmarking. The digitization of healthcare in recent years has facilitated medical data scientists’ access to extensive hospital data, fostering AI-based research. A notable addition to this trend is the

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Acute respiratory failure is a common disease, impacting various cancer survivors and reflecting post-surgery complications. However, little evidence based on respiratory failure has been developed for prognostic assessment and prediction in patients ...

Objective Lung is often implicated in sepsis, resulting in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The alveolar–arterial oxygen gradient [D(A‐a)O2] reflects lung diffusing capacity, which is usually compromised in ARDS.

Lactoferrin promotes wound healing by activating MAPK, PI3K/Akt, and extracellular matrix pathways, enhancing fibroblast remodeling, proliferation, and re‐epithelialization. These mechanisms highlight its therapeutic potential in inflammation control, tissue repair, and remodeling.

Although there has been extensive research on the mortality and prognosis of sepsis, none of them has been focused on the association between mortality and timing of admission to intensive care unit (ICU) in sepsis patients. This study used MIMIC-IV data

Background Sepsis-Induced Coagulopathy (SIC) is common complications of sepsis in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. It has a significant impact on the prognosis of patients with sepsis and is an important cause of death. However, there is no evidence for the use of Argatroban in SIC anticoagulant therapy.

NMR metabolomics revealed concentration‐dependent metabolic perturbations in HepG2 cells exposed to H2O2. Rifampicin pretreatment enhanced metabolic competence, attenuated toxin‐induced alterations and produced metabolite profiles more consistent with human liver physiology, supporting the use of CYP450‐induced HepG2 models for improved in vitro ...

Dual native G‐quadruplex folding is associated with chromatin looping at the MYC locus
BG4‐detectable G‐quadruplex (G4) in HaCaT and NHEK keratinocytes identified folded and unfolded G4s enriched at promoters/TSSs and active enhancers, whereas unfolded G4s also overlapped weak/poised enhancers. At MYC–PVT1, 3C‐qPCR detected enhancer–promoter looping only when G4s were simultaneously folded at both regulatory elements under native ...

Critically ill cerebrovascular disease (CVD) patients face high mortality, yet modifiable prognostic factors remain underexplored. The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index has emerged as a surrogate marker of insulin resistance, but its association with ...
