Nonlinear evolution characteristics and seepage mechanical model of fluids in broken rock mass based on the bifurcation theory

open access: yesScientific Reports
With the deep extension of coal mining in China, fault water inrush has become one of the major disasters threatening the safety production of coal mine.

An experimental study on the yield strength of cement grout for grouting in the limestone area of a coal seam floor

open access: yesMeitian dizhi yu kantan
Objective and MethodsIn recent years, regional grouting through ground directional drilling has become the preferred technique for water disaster prevention and control in floor limestones in a coal mining area.

Mining and Water Pollution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Residual sulphide minerals, especially pyrite, in the tailings dumps are unstable when exposed to atmospheric oxygen and undergo oxidation resulting in the generation of acid mine drainage (AMD) and the subsequent release of heavy metals and metalloids (Jambor & Blowes, 1998).

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Recognizing Indigenous Water Cultures and Rights in Mine Water Management: The Role of Negotiated Agreements

open access: yes, 2015
A social licence to operate is increasingly important in the resources industry, particularly with respect to mining activities that might jeopardize water sources on indigenous lands. Negotiated agreements have gained popularity because legal frameworks

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Interaction between an acidic mine water and an agricultural soil material

open access: yes, 2008
A column filtering experiment was conducted to investigate interaction between an acidic mine water and an agricultural soil material during percolation of the mine water through the soil column.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...
