ON THE COMPUTATION OF THE MINIMAL POLYNOMIAL OF A TWO-VARIABLE POLYNOMIAL MATRIX

open access: yes, 2008
The main contribution of this work is to provide an algorithm for the computation of the minimal polynomial of a two variable polynomial matrix, based on the solution of linear matrix equations. The whole theory is implemented via an illustrative example.

Physical Origin of Temperature Induced Activation Energy Switching in Electrically Conductive Cement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The temperature‐induced Arrhenius activation energy switching phenomenon of electrical conduction in electrically conductive cement originates from structural degradation within the biphasic ionic‐electronic conduction architecture and shows percolation‐governed characteristics: pore network opening dominates the low‐percolation regime with downward ...

Microscale Mapping of Fiber Strain and Damage in Composite Wrinkled Laminates Using Computed Tomography Assisted Wide‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

Quantum algorithm for solving binary hyperelliptic curve discrete logarithm problem

open access: yesCybersecurity
It is well-established that Shor’s algorithm can solve the discrete logarithm problem (DLP) in polynomial time. The hyperelliptic curve DLP (HCDLP) of genus 2 has found widespread industrial applications and remains an active research domain.

Structural and Compositional Effects on the Scintillation Properties of Fast Emitting Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The crystalline structure, the atomic numbers of the constituent elementsand the size of MOF crystals each influence their photoluminescence and scintillation properties in distinct ways. Together, these factors provide valuable guidelines for designing systems with optimized performance and tunable timing characteristics, arising from the synergistic ...

A Smart Fluid‐Hydraulic System Based on MRF Valve Control and Its Application in Flexible Grasping

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a smart fluid hydraulic system using MRF valve control for flexible gripping. An MRF‐MSV with an integrated excitation coil and micro‐textured damping channels is designed and validated; micro‐texturing increases hydraulic resistance. Coupled with a soft actuator, the MRF‐MSV enables dynamic bending and grasping.
