Minimizing shortfall [PDF]

open access: yesQuantitative Finance, 2011
This paper describes an empirical study of shortfall optimization with Barra Extreme Risk. We compare minimum shortfall to minimum variance portfolios in the US, UK, and Japanese equity markets using Barra Style Factors (Value, Growth, Momentum, etc.). We show that minimizing shortfall generally improves performance over minimizing variance, especially

CPX‐351 in High‐Risk Relapsed Pediatric Acute Leukemia: Real‐World Phase 1 Data Establishing the FDA‐Approved Dose

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Outcomes for pediatric relapsed/refractory (R/R) acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remain dismal. CPX‐351, a liposomal formulation of cytarabine and daunorubicin, may have less off‐target toxicities than traditional chemotherapies and has shown improved outcomes for adults with newly diagnosed therapy‐related AML.

Minimal measures

open access: yesCommentarii Mathematici Helvetici, 1989
For a finite composition of exact, area preserving, positive twist diffeomorphisms of the infinite cylinder, we will show that an invariant measure whose support consists of minimal orbits strictly minimizes the average action.

Novel Genetic Risk Factor Identified for L‐Asparaginase‐Induced Pancreatitis in Pediatric Patients With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background L‐asparaginase is a critical component in treatment protocols for pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Acute pancreatitis reactions can necessitate delays and, in some cases, discontinuation of L‐asparaginase, which compromises outcomes.

Singular Minimal Surfaces which are Minimal

open access: yesUniversal Journal of Mathematics and Applications, 2021
In the present paper, we discuss the singular minimal surfaces in Euclidean $3-$space $\mathbb{R}^{3}$ which are minimal. Such a surface is nothing but a plane, a trivial outcome. However, a non-trivial outcome is obtained when we modify the usual condition of singular minimality by using a special semi-symmetric metric connection instead of the Levi ...

Upacicalcet: A Novel Intravenous Calcimimetic Agent for Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis With Secondary Hyperparathyroidism

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is a common complication in patients receiving maintenance dialysis, driven by calcium and phosphate metabolism disturbances. Calcimimetics are central to the management of SHPT by enhancing calcium‐sensing receptor sensitivity and reducing parathyroid hormone secretion.
