A Potential Function Derivation of a Constitutive Equation for Inelastic Material Response [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
Physical and thermodynamic concepts are used to develop a potential function for application to high temperature polycrystalline material response. Inherent in the formulation is a differential relationship between the potential function and constitutive

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Observations of creep of polar firn at different temperatures [PDF]

open access: yesThe Cryosphere
To improve our understanding of firn compaction and deformation processes, constant-load compressive creep tests were performed on specimens from a Summit, Greenland (72°35′ N, 38°25′ W) firn core that was extracted in June 2017.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Combined creep and plastic analysis with numerical methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The combination of plastic and creep analysis formulation are developed in this paper. The boundary element method and the finite element method are applied in plates in order to do the numerical analysis.

The importance of creep strain in linking together the Wilshire equations for minimum creep rates and times to various strains (including the rupture strain): an illustration using 1CrMoV rotor steel [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Materials Science, 2013
This paper highlights the observation that the Wilshire equations for failure times and times to various strains, as reported in the original literature, may not be the most appropriate ones for all materials—including the one selected in this study. Further, such appropriateness can be determined by looking at the consistencies between the parameter ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Creep-seepage evolution of coal under different temperatures, confining pressures, and gas pressures

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan
In order to realize the efficient mining of deep coalbed methane, through studying the creep deformation and permeability evolution laws of coal mass under different temperatures, confining pressures and gas pressures, we obtain the coupling relationship

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Microglial dynamics and ferroptosis induction in human iPSC‐derived neuron–astrocyte–microglia tri‐cultures

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A tri‐culture of iPSC‐derived neurons, astrocytes, and microglia treated with ferroptosis inducers as an Induced ferroptosis model was characterized by scRNA‐seq, cell survival, and cytokine release assays. This analysis revealed diverse microglial transcriptomic changes, indicating that the system captures key aspects of the complex cellular ...
