Non-Gaussian Expansion of Minkowski Tensors in Redshift Space

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
This paper focuses on extending the use of Minkowski tensors to analyze anisotropic signals in cosmological data, focusing on those introduced by redshift space distortions.

Minkowski space approach for the Bethe-Salpeter equation

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
The bound-state energy spectrum for two-boson system with a fixed exchanged massive boson is investigated by considering the scalar Bethe-Salpeter (BS) equation in Minkowski space within the ladder-approximation framework.

Validation of machine learning based scenario generators

open access: yesJournal of Risk and Insurance, EarlyView.
Abstract Machine learning (ML) methods are becoming increasingly important for designing economic scenario generators for internal models. Validating data‐driven models requires different methods than validating classical, theory‐based models. We discuss two novel aspects of such validation: first, checking the multivariate distribution of risk factors,

On a Class of human development index measures [PDF]

open access: yes
Using Minkowski distance function we propose a class of Human Development Index measures. Special cases of this turn out to be the popularly used linear average method as also a newly proposed displaced ideal method. Two measures of penalty are suggested.

Conformal partial wave expansion of celestial correlators

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
A novel definition of holographic correlation functions on the celestial sphere of Minkowski space was recently introduced in [1] as the extrapolation of bulk time-ordered correlation functions to the celestial sphere.

3D structural analysis: sensitivity of Minkowski functionals

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, 2010
SummaryThe Minkowski functionals, a family of statistical measures based on the Euler–Poincaré characteristic of n‐dimensional space, are the complete set of additive morphological measures and can be simply calculated from local contributions. As such, they have found a wide range of applications.

Some harmonic functions on Minkowski space [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1997
This note presents elementary geometric descriptions of several simple families of harmonic functions on the upper sheet of the unit hyperboloid in Minkowski three-space. As is briefly discussed here, these calculations grew out of an earlier attempt to construct Poincaré series on punctured surfaces using Minkowski geometry.

Welfare and Felt Duration

open access: yesNoûs, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT How should we understand the duration of a pleasant or unpleasant sensation, insofar as its duration modulates how good or bad the experience is overall? Given that we seem able to distinguish between subjective and objective duration and that how well or badly someone's life goes is naturally thought of as something to be assessed from her ...

Modified celestial amplitude in Einstein gravity

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
In this paper we evaluate the modified celestial amplitude for gravitons and gluons, as defined in [4]. We find that the modified (tree) amplitude is finite for gravitons in Einstein gravity.

Causal particle detectors and topology

open access: yes, 2005
We investigate particle detector responses in some topologically non-trivial spacetimes. We extend a recently proposed regularization of the massless scalar field Wightman function in 4-dimensional Minkowski space to arbitrary dimension, to the massive ...
