3D‐Printed Titanium Gyroid Scaffold Structure Integrated With Tough Hybrid Materials for Cartilage Replacement

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study proposes a potential device design for joint cartilage replacement. Silica‐polytetrahydrofuran (SiO2‐PolyTHF) hybrids with customizable mechanical properties were developed to mimic the characteristics of a natural meniscus. These were synthesized through a two‐pot sol–gel hybrid process.

A Multi‐Scale Machine Learning Framework for the Inverse Design of High Entropy Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐entropy alloys offer vast potential for various applications, including electrocatalysis; however, their compositional complexity challenges conventional screening. We introduce an inverse‐design framework combining two neural networks to determine optimal compositions and reconstruct nanoparticle geometry from targeted properties and conventional

Enhanced mismatch negativity in adolescents with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

open access: yes, 2011
The mismatch negativity (MMN) is observed following rare or unique sensory events, and reflects pre-attentional sensory processing of unexpected stimuli. The MMN is altered in several mental illnesses, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), but

Extracting rules : early and late mismatch negativity to tone patterns

open access: yes, 2005
The auditory processing of physical stimulus features can be measured by the mismatch negativity. Past studies have shown that higher-order stimulus features also elicit a mismatch negativity.

Processing acoustic change and novelty in newborn infants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Research on event-related potential (ERP) correlates of auditory deviance-detection in newborns provided inconsistent results; temporal and topographic ERP characteristics differed widely across studies and individual infants.

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Mismatch negativity in children with dyslexia speaking Indian languages

open access: yesBehavioral and Brain Functions, 2007
Background Several studies in the past have found that phonological processing is abnormal in children with dyslexia. Phonological processing depends on the phonological rules of the language learnt.

Control of Polarization and Polar Helicity in BiFeO3 by Epitaxial Strain and Interfacial Chemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In BiFeO3 thin films, the interplay of interfacial chemistry, electrostatics, and epitaxial strain is engineered to stabilize homohelicity in polarization textures at the domain scale. The synergistic use of a Bi2O2‐terminated Aurivillius buffer layer and a highly anisotropic compressive epitaxial strain offers new routes to control the polar‐texture ...

From Food to Power: Hydrogel Thermoelectrics for Ingestible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a fully edible thermoelectric–electrochromic platform that harvests heat from food and converts it into a visible color change. N‐type and p‐type hydrogel thermoelectric generators connected in series power anthocyanin‐based electrochromic displays, demonstrating the feasibility of safe, biodegradable, ingestible systems for on‐food ...
