Divalent ion substitution effect on Yb-site in Kondo insulator YbB12

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
YbB12 has been investigated energetically as a typical Kondo insulator. To study detailed formation mechanism of Kondo energy gap, we have investigated transport and magnetic properties of Yb1-xR3+xB12 (R3+ = non-magnetic trivalent ions).

ACSL5 Regulates Glucose Metabolism and Chemotherapy Sensitivity in Colorectal Cancer Cells under Glutamine Deficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glutamine deprivation triggers ACSL5 upregulation in tumor cells, sustaining their viability via dual metabolic rewiring programs. ACSL5 enhances glycolysis by relieving p53's inhibition of PGAM1 while also sustaining mitochondrial respiration and TCA cycle flux through promoting IDH2 dimerization.

The Mitochondrial Guardian α‐Amyrin Mitigates Alzheimer's Disease Pathology via Modulation of the DLK‐SARM1‐ULK1 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dietary habits play a key role in chronic diseases, and higher annual consumption of fruit and vegetable may lower risk of dementia. Artificial intelligence predicts the lipid‐like compound α‐Amyrin (αA) from plants with edible peels as a drug candidate against Alzheimer's disease.

Microglial Fkbp5 Impairs Post‐Stroke Vascular Integrity and Regeneration by Promoting Yap1‐Mediated Glycolysis and Oxidative Phosphorylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A post‐stroke perivascular niche of microglia characterized by low expression of M2 markers and elevated glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and phagocytic activity is identified, which is termed stroke‐activated vascular‐associated microglia (stroke‐VAM).

Positional anterior sternoclavicular joint dislocation in the acceleration phase of throwing: a case report

open access: yesJSES International, 2020
Positional anterior sternoclavicular joint (SCJ) dislocation is relatively rare and needs careful treatment. We report our course of treatment and tips for surgery in a case. The patient was a 16-year-old male outfield baseball player.

Metabolic Reprogramming of T Cells by Dual UCP2 and IL‐17 Blockade Enhances Immunity Against Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that dual UCP2/IL‐17 blockade reprograms T‐cell metabolism to overcome PDAC immunosuppression. Genipin‐mediated UCP2 inhibition enhances CD8⁺ T‐cell IFN‐γ via IL‐12R/STAT4/mTOR signaling and mitochondrial OXPHOS. Combined IL‐17 depletion amplifies Tc1/Th1 responses, reduces MDSCs, and prolongs survival in PDAC models ...

Mitochondrial stress in advanced fibrosis and cirrhosis associated with chronic hepatitis B, chronic hepatitis C, or nonalcoholic steatohepatitis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Adaptive mitochondrial mechanisms allow mitochondrial resilience and prevent the worsening of fibrosis, while deregulation of these mechanisms promotes the progression from no/minimal‐mild (F0‐F2) fibrosis to advanced fibrosis and cirrhosis (F3‐F4). Abstract Background and Aims Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection causes oxidative stress (OS) and alters ...
