The complete mitochondria genome of Aldrichina grahami (Diptera: Calliphoridae). [PDF]
Aldrichina grahami is a significant medical and forensic insect belonging to the family calliphoridae. In this study, we present the complete mitochondrial genome of A. grahami for the first time. The mitogenome was 14 903 bp in length, consisting of 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes and 13 protein-encoding genes.

Organellar inheritance in the green lineage: insights from Ostreococcus tauri [PDF]
Along the green lineage (Chlorophyta and Streptophyta), mitochondria and chloroplast are mainly uniparentally transmitted and their evolution is thus clonal. The mode of organellar inheritance in their ancestor is less certain.

Human mitochondrial degradosome prevents harmful mitochondrial R loops and mitochondrial genome instability [PDF]
R loops are nucleic acid structures comprising an DNA-RNA hybrid and a displaced single-stranded DNA. These structures may occur transiently during transcription, playing essential biological functions. However, persistent R loops may become pathological

Why mitochondria need a genome [PDF]
The evolution of the mitochondrial genome towards the compact organization found in the higher eukaryotes is discussed. It is suggested that the machinery for co‐translational protein export across the endoplasmic reticulum membrane sets strict limits on the kinds of protein‐coding genes that can be successfully transferred from the mitochondrial to ...

Apostasia Mitochondrial Genome Analysis and Monocot Mitochondria Phylogenomics
Apostasia shenzhenica belongs to the subfamily Apostasioideae and is a primitive group located at the base of the Orchidaceae phylogenetic tree. However, the A. shenzhenica mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) is still unexplored, and the phylogenetic relationships between monocots mitogenomes remain unexplored.
