Sea anemones possess dynamic mitogenome structures
Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2014A notable feature of hexacoral mitogenomes is the presence of complex self-catalytic group I introns. We investigated mitogenome structural variations and evolutionary mechanisms in actiniarian sea anemones based on the complete mitogenome sequence of the cold-water sea anemone species Urticina eques, Bolocera tuediae, Hormathia digitata and Metridium ...

Genome, 2010
Extraordinary variation has been found in mitochondrial (mt) genome inheritance, gene content and arrangement among bivalves. However, only few bivalve mt genomes have been comparatively analyzed to infer their evolutionary scenarios. In this study, the complete mt genome of the venerid Paphia euglypta (Bivalvia: Veneridae) was firstly studied and ...

Marine turtle mitogenome phylogenetics and evolution
Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2012The sea turtles are a group of cretaceous origin containing seven recognized living species: leatherback, hawksbill, Kemp's ridley, olive ridley, loggerhead, green, and flatback. The leatherback is the single member of the Dermochelidae family, whereas all other sea turtles belong in Cheloniidae.

Mitogenomic diversity in Russians and Poles
Forensic Science International: Genetics, 2017Complete mtDNA genome sequencing improves molecular resolution for distinguishing variation between individuals and populations, but there is still deficiency of mitogenomic population data. To overcome this limitation, we used Sanger-based protocol to generate complete mtDNA sequences of 376 Russian individuals from six populations of European part of

The complete mitogenome of Fusarium gerlachii
Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2014The structure of the Fusarium gerlachii mitogenome is similar to that of closely related Fusarium graminearum; it has a total length of 93,428 bp, the base composition of the genome is: A (35.3%), T (32.8%), C (14.7%) and G (17.2%). The mitogenome contains 13 protein-coding genes, 2 ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and 28 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes.
