Partial genome analysis of cox1 subunit-I region in mitochondrial dna of canine mammary tumours [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, 2021
Oncogenesis is an area which continuously elicits research interest. There are innumerable factors which contribute to oncogenesis of which mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) mutations play a major role. Though extensive studies have been conducted relating mtDNA

THE ROLE OF MITOCHONDRIA IN THE FORMATION OF THE BIOPHYSICAL POTENTIAL OF THE BODY AND THE MANIFESTATION OF HETEROSIS

open access: yesJournal of Bioinformatics and Genomics, 2023
A retrospective analysis of the theoretical developments of the causes of the phenomenon of heterosis has been carried out. In connection with new scientific achievements of the fundamental sciences, various hypotheses of heterosis have been revised.

CHEMERIN AS A POTENTIAL REGULATOR OF MITOCHONDRIAL QUALITY CONTROL IN OBESE PATIENTS

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2021
In obese patients, the relationship between the content of chemerin in blood plasma and the expression of genes TFAM, Drp1, MFN2, SOD, BAX, responsible for quality control of mitochondria, in insulin-dependent tissues (adipose tissue, liver) was revealed.

The rise and rise of mitochondrial DNA mutations [PDF]

open access: yesOpen Biology, 2020
How mitochondrial DNA mutations clonally expand in an individual cell is a question that has perplexed mitochondrial biologists for decades. A growing body of literature indicates that mitochondrial DNA mutations play a major role in ageing, metabolic ...

Uniqueness of Sperm mtDNA as Compared to Somatic mtDNA in Ram [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Andrology, 1980
Sperm mtDNA exhibits unique physicochemical properties compared with mtDNA from somatic tissues in the ram. The buoyant density of sperm mtDNA was 1.6983 g/cm3 while the brain, heart and liver mtDNAs was about 1.7005 g/cm3. The Tm of the liver and sperm mtDNA was 71.0°C and 69.5°C, respectively.

Mitochondrial D-loop sequence variation among autochthonous horse breeds in Croatia

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science, 2009
Genetic variation in three Croatian coldblood horse populations was analysed using a sequence analysis of the proximal part (nt 15 498-15 821) of the D-loop region of mtDNA.

Calculation of the effective population size and estimating of total population size using mitochondrial DNA sequencing in Hamedan, Qazvin and Zanjan provinces [PDF]

open access: yesمجله بیوتکنولوژی کشاورزی, 2015
Although wolves have the ability to live in different habitat types, in recent years their population has been drastically reduced in most parts of the country and in some areas has become extinct.

Stable genetic structure and connectivity in pollution-adapted and nearby pollution-sensitive populations of Fundulus heteroclitus [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2018
Populations of the non-migratory estuarine fish Fundulus heteroclitus inhabiting the heavily polluted New Bedford Harbour (NBH) estuary have shown inherited tolerance to local pollutants introduced to their habitats in the past 100 years. Here we examine
