Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

This paper presents a compact mixed-mode first-order universal filter based on a single voltage differencing current conveyor (VDCC), which can function in all four possible operation modes, i.e., voltage mode (VM), trans-admittance mode (TAM), current ...

[Multilingualism and Mixed-Mode Communication
Like other disciplines, the field of sociolinguistics is not a homogenous one. It rather comes in three “loosely connected waves” (Eckert 2012) with each wave applying specific sets of methods. How can we use methodological triangulation and combine these methods, both quantitative and qualitative in nature, to integrate the three waves of ...

Characterizing mixed mode oscillations shaped by noise and bifurcation structure
Many neuronal systems and models display a certain class of mixed mode oscillations (MMOs) consisting of periods of small amplitude oscillations interspersed with spikes.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

On the Relative Advantage of Mixed-Mode versus Single-Mode Surveys
Survey researchers increasingly use mixed-mode surveys for general population data collection because mixed-mode surveys are argued to provide lower selection error at constant budgets or lower variable costs at constant selection error.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Mixed Mode Oscillation in FitzHugh-Rinzel Model
FitzHugh-Nagumo-Rinzel model is an important model for the dynamics of single neuron. We observed some patterns of Bursting specially Mixed Mode Oscillation (MMO) in this model.

Mixed mode oscillations in the Bonhoeffer-van der Pol oscillator with weak periodic perturbation [PDF]
Following the paper of K. Shimizu et al. (2011) we consider the Bonhoeffer-van der Pol oscillator with non-autonomous periodic perturbation. We show that the presence of mixed mode oscillations reported in that paper can be explained using the ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
