Production of TiO2 with Scrap Collected by Trap in the TiN Process [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials
This study synthesized nano-sized TiO₂ using scrap from the TiN thin film manufacturing process by a hydrothermal reaction. By controlling the reaction temperature and concentration, the crystal structure and particle size were controlled.

Melamine promotes calcium crystal formation in three-dimensional microfluidic device

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2019
Melamine, which induces proximal tubular (PT) cell damage has a greater nephrotoxic effect when combined with cyanuric and uric acids; however, it is unknown whether such effect can stimulate calcium phosphate (CaP)/calcium oxalate (CaOx) stone formation.

Composition dependence of phonon and thermodynamic properties of the ternary AlGaN mixed crystal

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
Although ternary AlGaN has recently been studied, an accurate phonon spectrum of AlGaN mixed crystal is still scarcity. Based on the density functional theory (DFT), the atomic geometry, phonons and thermodynamic properties of AlxGa1-xN mixed crystal ...

Promoting effect of Rh on the activity and stability of Pt-based methane combustion catalyst in microreactors

open access: yesCatalysis Communications, 2021
For the combustion of methane, a partial replacement of platinum by rhodium leads to a significantly improved light-off behavior of the corresponding mixed Pt-Rh/γ-Al2O3 catalysts compared to a catalyst containing only Pt supported on γ-Al2O3. For all Pt-

Fabrication and Optical Properties of 2at.%Yb:LuYAG Mixed Crystal through Nanocrystalline Powders

open access: yesCrystals, 2018
Ytterbium doped Lu1.5Y1.5Al5O12 (LuYAG) nanocrystalline powders were synthesized by a wet chemical mixed precipitant co-precipitation (MPP) method, and then the mixed crystal of Yb:LuYAG was grown in an optical floating zone (OFZ) furnace at the speed of

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Prognostic simulations of mixed-phase clouds with model AC-1D v1.0: the impact of aerosol types and freezing parameterizations on ice crystal budgets [PDF]

open access: yesGeoscientific Model Development
Mixed-phase clouds at high latitudes contribute to the uncertainty in predicting cloud feedbacks and climate sensitivity, mainly due to the complexity of microphysical processes that influence the partitioning between the supercooled liquid and ice ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
