Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Enhanced Phosphorescence in Dibenzophosphole Chalcogenide Mixed Crystal
The single crystals of 9-phenyl-9-dibenzophosphole chalcogenides {oxide (1), sulfide (2) and selenide (3)} and a mixed crystal of 2 and 3 have been prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis.

Prognostic simulations of mixed-phase clouds with model AC-1D v1.0: the impact of aerosol types and freezing parameterizations on ice crystal budgets [PDF]
Mixed-phase clouds at high latitudes contribute to the uncertainty in predicting cloud feedbacks and climate sensitivity, mainly due to the complexity of microphysical processes that influence the partitioning between the supercooled liquid and ice ...

For the combustion of methane, a partial replacement of platinum by rhodium leads to a significantly improved light-off behavior of the corresponding mixed Pt-Rh/γ-Al2O3 catalysts compared to a catalyst containing only Pt supported on γ-Al2O3. For all Pt-

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Crystal structure of a mixed chain diacylglycerol, 1-stearoyl-3-oleyl-glycerol.
Diacylglycerols composed of one saturated and one unsaturated chain make up the hydrophobic core of many biological membranes. We report here the first crystalline structure of such a mixed chain diacylglycerol. The mixed chain diacylglycerol, 1-stearoyl-

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Preparation and thermal decomposition of zinc/copper trimellitates and pyromellitates [PDF]
The aim of this research was to prepare and characterise zinc, copper and mixed zinc/copper trimellitates (1,2,4-benzene tricarboxylates) and pyromellitates (1,2,4,5- benzene tetracarboxylates).
