Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Efficiency of indirect selection for green biomass production of Urochloa ruziziensis
We aimed to measure the efficiency of visual selection of plant vigor for green biomass production of U. ruziziensis using single- and multitrait approaches to maximize the predictive accuracy of the genetic value.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Estimating nonparametric mixed logit models via EM algorithm [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to describe a Stata routine for the nonparametric estimation of mixed logit models using a Expectation-Maximisation algorithm. We also compare the performance of our estimator with respect to more typical parametric mixed logit ...

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Lack-of-fit tests in semiparametric mixed models. [PDF]
In this paper we obtain the asymptotic distribution of restricted likelihood ratio tests in mixed linear models with a fixed and finite number of random effects.

Binary and Ordinal Random Effects Models Including Variable Selection [PDF]
A likelihood-based boosting approach for fitting binary and ordinal mixed models is presented. In contrast to common procedures it can be used in high-dimensional settings where a large number of potentially influential explanatory variables is available.

Using lexical variables to predict picture-naming errors in jargon aphasia
Introduction Individuals with jargon aphasia produce fluent output which often comprises high proportions of non-word errors (e.g., maf for dog). Research has been devoted to identifying the underlying mechanisms behind such output.
