Complications after medullary thyroid carcinoma surgery: multicentre study of the SQRTPA and EUROCRINE® databases

open access: yesBJS (British Journal of Surgery), EarlyView., 2020
This study investigated postoperative complications after surgery for medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) in Europe. Hypoparathyroidism, recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy and bleeding requiring reoperation occurred in 170 (26·2 per cent), 62 (13·7 per cent) and 17 (2·6 per cent) patients respectively.

Mixed Intraepithelial Neoplasia-Well-Differentiated Neuroendocrine Tumor of the Gallbladder : A Hitherto Unreported Combination [case report]

open access: yes, 2021
Adenocarcinomas and noninvasive intraepithelial neoplasms (either polypoid or flat) are the most common gallbladder tumors; however, neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) can also occur. The majority of NENs are represented by neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs),

Gastric mixed neuroendocrine non-neuroendocrine neoplasms

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
The uncommon tumour known as gastric mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasms (G-MiNENs) is made up of parts of neuroendocrine carcinoma and adenocarcinoma. The biological and clinical features are different from those of gastric adenocarcinoma.

Molecular Analysis of an Intestinal Neuroendocrine/Non-neuroendocrine Neoplasm (MiNEN) Reveals MLH1 Methylation-driven Microsatellite Instability and a Monoclonal Origin: Diagnostic and Clinical Implications

open access: yes, 2021
Mixed neuroendocrine/non-neuroendocrine neoplasms (MiNEN) are rare mixed epithelial neoplasms in which a neuroendocrine component is combined with a non-neuroendocrine component.

Long-term surgical outcomes of gastric neuroendocrine carcinoma and mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasms

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2022
Background Neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) and mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasm (MiNEN) are extremely rare subtypes of gastric cancer. MiNEN is a mix of carcinomatous components and neuroendocrine neoplasm in the same lesion. NEC and MiNEN

Clinicopathologic and Molecular Features of Mixed Neuroendocrine Non-Neuroendocrine Neoplasms of the Gallbladder

open access: yesGastroenterology Research, 2020
Neuroendocrine neoplasms of the gallbladder are rare, comprising 0.5% of all neuroendocrine cancers and about 2% of gallbladder cancers. These neoplasms can also be found along with other malignant neoplasms of epithelial origin, mostly adenocarcinomas.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Gallbladder Mixed Neuroendocrine-Non-Neuroendocrine Neoplasms: A Case Report

open access: yesInternational Journal of Innovative Research in Medical Science, 2020
The gallbladder Mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasms (MiNEN) are extremely rare. The association of at least two components including one neuroendocrine tumor, and a non-neuroendocrine one defines MiNEN. We are reporting a case of 50-year-old woman referred to our department for management of a gallbladder tumor suspected on imaging.

Inhibition of SIRT7 Overcomes Radioresistance in Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors by Reactivating MEN1 Expression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors frequently silence MEN1 through epigenetic mechanisms. Here, SIRT7 recruits DNMT1 to the MEN1 promoter, drives hypermethylation, and enhances DNA repair. Inhibiting SIRT7 restores MEN1, reduces MRN complex abundance, impairs double‐strand break repair, and sensitizes PanNET models to radiation, supporting SIRT7 as a ...
