Acute effects of running 10km on the medial longitudinal arch height: dynamic evaluation using a three-dimensional motion capture system

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Human Movement
In previous studies, static evaluations of changes in the navicular height by long-distance running have shown that the navicular height decreases after long-distance running. However, few studies have performed dynamic evaluations of the changes in the

Near-Field Beamfocusing, Localization, and Channel Estimation with Modular Linear Arrays [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
This paper investigates how near-field beamfocusing can be achieved using a modular linear array (MLA), composed of multiple widely spaced uniform linear arrays (ULAs). The MLA architecture extends the aperture length of a standard ULA without adding additional antennas, thereby enabling near-field beamfocusing without increasing processing complexity.

Pynchon at the MLA Convention

open access: yesPynchon Notes, 1983
To a certain extent, the four papers presented at the MLA session on "The Impact of Science and Technology on Language, Style, and Structure in the Work of 'Thomas Pynchon" told us what we already knew: Science is not the answer either. More remarkable is the number of very different ways in which science enriches Pynchon's work even as it explodes ...
