Disease Duration Differentiates Freezing of Gait Response to Subthalamic and Nigral Stimulation for Parkinson's Disease in an Exploratory Multicenter Controlled Trial

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Freezing of gait (FoG) belongs to most pressing unmet symptoms in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. Objectives To explore whether combined subthalamic and nigral (STN + SNr) deep brain stimulation improves FoG compared with optimized STN stimulation alone; to identify clinical variables associated with therapeutic response ...

Generalised MBER-based vector precoding design for multiuser transmission

open access: yes, 2011
We propose a generalized vector precoding (VP) design based on the minimum bit error rate (MBER) criterion for multiuser transmission in the downlink of a multiuser system, where the base station (BS) equipped with multiple transmitting antennas ...

Plasma p‐tau217 Versus p‐tau181 in Parkinson's Disease: Differential Associations with Alzheimer's Disease‐Related Neurostructural Changes and Cognitive Function

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Plasma phosphorylated‐tau at threonine‐217 (p‐tau217) and threonine‐181 (p‐tau181) are scalable, minimally invasive biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology. In Parkinson's disease (PD), AD co‐pathology may contribute to its clinical heterogeneity.

Timing of Deep Brain Stimulation and Cognitive Trajectories in GBA1‐Associated Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD) carrying GBA1 variants often develop advanced motor complications that prompt evaluation for deep brain stimulation (DBS). However, concerns about accelerated cognitive decline after DBS in GBA1 carriers complicate clinical decision making.

Plasma Lipid Remodeling across Preclinical Burden, Disease Onset, and Early Motor Severity in Huntington's Disease

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Objectives Huntington's disease (HD) evolves silently for years before motor onset, yet the systemic metabolic alterations accompanying cumulative exposure to mutant huntingtin and disease progression remain poorly understood.

Automatic regularization for linear MMSE filters

open access: yesSignal Processing
In this work, we consider the problem of regularization in the design of minimum mean square error (MMSE) linear filters. Using the relationship with statistical machine learning methods, using a Bayesian approach, the regularization parameter is found from the observed signals in a simple and automatic manner.

Determinants of Cueing Responsiveness in Parkinson's Disease: Insights from the UNITE‐PD Study

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Cueing strategies are widely used to improve gait in Parkinson's disease (PD), but interindividual variability in cueing responsiveness remains poorly understood. Objectives The objective of the study was to identify determinants of internal and external cueing efficacy in persons with PD.
