A Multimodal Neuroimaging Study of Hyperlipidemia‐Induced Abnormal Spontaneous Brain Activity and Cognitive Decline

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate multidomain cognitive performance in older adults with hyperlipidemia and its associations with alterations in spontaneous brain activity and functional connectivity (FC). Methods A total of 104 participants were recruited, comprising 50 hyperlipidemia patients and 54 healthy controls.

Emotional Improvement Despite General Clinical Deterioration During Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation in Stiff Person Syndrome: A Longitudinal Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT We report a woman with anti‐GAD‐positive Stiff Person Syndrome undergoing two multidisciplinary neurorehabilitation admissions. A Transactional Analysis‐informed neuropsychotherapeutic intervention supported emotional adaptation and goal transition from recovery to adaptation.

Frontal Cerebral Blood Flow Deficits in Behavioral Variant Frontotemporal Dementia: Associations With Clinical Symptoms, Peripheral Vascular Biomarkers, and Neuroimaging Measures

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 11, November 2026.
Frontal and temporal hypoperfusion is observed in frontotemporal dementia, showing spatial concordance with gray matter atrophy and hypometabolism of glucose. Frontal hypoperfusion correlates significantly with peripheral vascular biomarkers and clinical phenotypes.

Hippocampal Subfield Volumes and Spatial Memory Performance in Older Adults At‐Risk for Type 2 Diabetes

open access: yesHippocampus, Volume 36, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Older adults at risk for type 2 diabetes (T2D) are more likely to experience accelerated cognitive aging and neurodegeneration due to impaired metabolism in the hippocampus. However, the precise relationship between T2D risk factors, brain volumes (i.e., gray matter, white matter, hippocampus subfields), and hippocampus‐dependent functions (i ...

Association Between Deep Gray Matter Iron Deposition Dysregulation and Cognitive Performance in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients: A Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping Study

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Volume 64, Issue 5, Page 1295-1308, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) heightens cognitive impairment risk, yet the mechanisms remain unclear. Hyperglycemia‐induced iron dysregulation in deep gray matter (DGM) nuclei may be a crucial mechanism. Purpose To investigate DGM iron deposition in T2DM using Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM) and determine its association with ...
